In Absolvement, selecting a Race is one of the first and most important choices a new player can make. Upon creating their first character, players will be offered a number of Races to choose from.

However, their choice is final. Once selected, the current character’s Race can not be changed under any circumstances. Absolvement is a Perma Death game, so the only true way to change a players Race would be the death of a character, and the making of a new one.

Race Selection

Buffs And Debuffs

Each Race in Absolvement has its Race Unique Buffs. Some of the Races may offer increased damage output with a specific Damage Type or Max Health increases. However, these boosts to Stats come with significant trade-offs. All of the Races have inherent Debuffs, which depending on the players build can prove detrimental.

Depending on their preferred playstyle, players are encouraged to take into account both the positives and the negatives of their chosen Race.
