Traits
In Anime Squadron, you can equip a Trait on your Units to make them stronger and give them unique passive effects. You will have to roll for a specific Trait; each will have its own rarity.

How to Roll for Traits in Anime Squadron
To roll for Traits, you will need an item called Trait Shards, which you can get from playing the Story game mode.
After collecting enough Trait Shards for multiple rerolls, you will need to make your way to the Trait Roll NPC. He is located at the Upgrades waypoint.
1 Trait Shard will give you 1 reroll.
