Battle Pet is an incremental, pet-collecting simulator in which you build a team of creatures with unique stats and passives, and use them to battle other players. Collect over 50 unique Pets, level them up, and and unlock new zones filled with exotic creatures.
Currently still in Beta, the game is developed by Tomato2 and is receiving constant updates and bug fixes.
Features
- Pets: Pets are the core mechanic in Battle Pet. Each one of the 50+ Pets has its own stats and passive abilities. Your team will consist of multiple Pets doing battle at the same time, so synergy between their passives can prove to be more crucial than their raw, individual stats.
- Food: Open Chests to collect Food Items. Use them in battle to increase your stats or heal your Pets.
- Hats: Acquire and equip your pets with Hats. Each Hat provides additional stats or unique effects to the Pet you equip it on.
- Crafting: The in-game Crafting system allows you to Craft new, higher-rarity and level Pets by discarding your old ones.
Gameplay
The core gameplay loop of Battle Pet revolves around you collecting different Pets and using them to defeat other players in Pet Battles. There are multiple different ways of obtaining Pets. Some can be obtained by opening Chests, while others can be stolen from defeated opponents. You can keep track of all the Pets you acquired through the in-game Album. Finding a Pet for the first time rewards you with a decent sum of Experience.
In battle, Pets act independently, however, you’re responsible for the order in which they appear in combat. Each Pet has their own specific stats and Passive abilities, so perfecting your team comp synergy is the key to winning a battle. For example, some Pets act better when used as tanks, soaking up enemy damage when placed in-front of your other Pets, while others gain Attack buffs the longer they stay alive in the back.
Winning a battle rewards you with Experience (and the occasional Chest). You can then use that Experience to level up your preferred Pets, increasing their overall Stats and making them perform better in combat. Another way of enhancing your Pets is by using Hats. Hats are unique Items obtained from opening chest, which increase your Pets stats or grant unique perks when equipped.
