Vagabond Questline

Here you’ll see the entire questline for the Vagabond route in Dokkodo. These quests often include cutscenes, going from point A to point B, and fighting a wave of enemies with different fighting styles. You will have a waypoint on the map to show you where to go. Otherwise, we will explain any unknown location.

Chronologically, the Vagabond questline missions go as follows:

STREETS OF KYOTO
  • Walk the streets and observe any swordsmen passing through.
    • You will need to talk to Yoshioko Seijurio. You will not be able to talk with him if someone else is talking at the same time.
  • Find a quiet place for tea and gather your thoughts.
    • Open the Teahouse and buy tea.
AGAINST THE YOSHIOKO
  • Find Yoshioka Dojo.
  • Sit down and Storm the dojo.
    • Press ‘E‘ to interact with a pillow inside the Dojo and choose the ‘STORM‘ option. You will have to defeat several enemies, and then fight the boss of the dojo, Ryohei Ueda.
      Each enemy will progressively add new mechanics in order to teach them to the player. This challenge can be difficult as enemies do input read a fair bit. However, if you mix up left and right attacks, you can trivialize this fight.
      Some players play on high ping servers in order to avoid input reading. However, this method has issues with hit recognition, so test it of your own volition.

THE STORM CLEARS
  • Return to Takuan Soho at the inn.
    • Here you will have a choice between two dialogue options. Choose the ‘Overconfident‘ option or “…” continues the Vagaond questline.
THE ROADS TO NARA
  • Head towards the Gate to Nara
SEARCH OF THE SPEAR
  • Look into the monk known as Hozoin In’ei in Nara.
    • At the first farm location, you will find a lonesome farming NPC taking care of his crops. Interact with him in order to complete the questline.
THE TEMPLE AWAITS
  • Find Kofukuji Temple.
  • Confront a student there.
    • Interact with the student outside the Dojo. This will initiate a boss fight with Hozoin Agon.
