Gryphon is the name of the sword used by Shanks, one of the current four Emperors of the Sea. Shanks was Mihawk’s rival when he had both of his arms; after losing one, Mihawk decided not to fight him anymore. This started a fierce debate in the fandom since Mihawk is hailed as the Strongest Swordsman; the debate gave birth to the incredibly important term of Haki Man (implying that even though all of Shanks’s attacks are sword-based, he is in fact NOT a swordsman)
