In Manhwa Legends (MHL) you can roll for Units from various Manhwa and Manhua series. Units are characters you can place on the map which have a set of unique attacks and passives. They fight the incoming waves of enemies.

They can be upgraded during the run and before leveling them up or even evolving them. When you summon units, there is a low chance that it is a Shiny which is a variant of the summoned unit that has better stats.

Each unit has 3 stats, DMG (Damage), SPA (Seconds per attack) and RNG (Range).
