Beginner’s Guide
Once you start Universal Tower Defense X, you will be given a starting unit. The starting unit does not matter, as it will be soon replaced. Before you start anything, redeem any available Universal Tower Defense X Codes, in order to get new units.
After you’ve done that, you can form your team. Be sure to check the unit’s type and position (Ground/Hill) in order to have synergy with each other. Once you’ve done that, you can start by completing the story mode. You will receive:
- Relics, that can be equipped and enhanced on your unit
- Gems, that are used to summon more units. Remember to always check the Unit Index NPC (Yo) and the Level Milestone NPC (Rogue Oni) in order to receive Gems for simply playing the game.
- Items, which are used to evolve units into their strongest forms.
Completing the story on higher difficulties will grant you better rewards, and the rewards will depend on if you are doing Legend mode or not.
The challenge mode is meant for players who have completed the story mode. There you can do daily, half hourly, and featured challenges. While the first 2 are meant for every player, new or veteran, the Featured Challenge is an end-game mission that has a chance to drop a strong unit.
At this point, you are familiar with the game and need to min-max your units. You do so by various means:
- Evolving them by using the evolution items you gathered from completing challenges and stories. You can check what unit requires what item here.
- Optimizing your Relics.
- Rolling for stats and Traits.
