How To Get Equipment

When starting the game, the players character will be equipped with two items, the Old Sack and the Old Axe. Both of these can and should be traded for a more advanced version as soon as possible.

Chests

The most efficient way of getting new equipment would be opening Chests. As every other item in the game, the better versions of Equipment Items can reliably found inside of them.

Pelt Trader NPC

Another way of obtaining Equipment, and also other items, is by interacting with the Pelt Trader NPC, who visits the player’s Campfire from time to time

To buy Items, players will need to bring different animal parts to the NPC. Once they do that, they’ll be able to choose one of three different Items as their reward.

Gathering Equipment

This type of Equipment is primarily made up of various Axes and Armors which have different gathering times and speeds. The amount gathered is the same every time, but with each Axe upgrade the time to cut down trees is significantly shorter. Each Armor will give additional defense and some can inflict damage when hit.

Item	Gathering Speed
Old Axe	Used for woodcutting and dealing damage to enemies. Cuts trees in 13 cuts.
Good Axe	Upgraded version of Old Axe. Cuts trees in 5 cuts.
Ice Axe	Same as Good Axe, and it also applies cold effect that slows enemies.
Strong Axe	The Strong Axe cuts down Normal Trees in one swing.
Fishing rod	Players can use this to catch fish in lakes for food.
Chainsaw	The Chainsaw’s Gathering Speed allows it to cut down Larger Trees.
Leather Armor	This Armor can be found in any chest, it reduces the damage the player takes.
Iron Armor	This Armor can be found in legendary, gold chests and it is tradable with the Pelt Trader. This Armor will reduce the damage the player takes.
Thorn Armor	This armor can be found in ruby chests, it reduces the damage the player takes while also dealing damage to enemies when they hit you.
Riot Shield	This item reduces damage taken, it can be used in tandem with another armor.
Alien Armor	This item can be found in UFO ships and the Mothership. This item greatly reduces damage taken.

Storage Equipment

This type of Equipment serves as the players on-board storage. Players can stash items they’ve found or gathered in Sacks, which they can later empty out once they reach the Campfire again.

Utility Equipment

Currently, Flashlights are the only Utility Equipment items in the game. Flashlights allow the player the ability to see during the night, and the beam of light they emit chases away the Deer Monster.

Warm Hats

Having worm hats is a must when trying to explore the Snow biome. In the snow biome, there is a cabin from which players can obtain these warm hats, in exchange for certain animal pelts. These hats provide warmth, which reduces the speed of how fast you get cold, allowing for easier exploration in the cold snow biome.
