How To Get Weapons

All the Weapons currently available in the game can be found out in the wild. However, players have a much higher chance of obtaining Weapons from Chests.

In 99 Nights In The Forest, Chests are the definitive way of finding better items and gear. There are multiple versions off Chests, with some being harder to find then others. The Items different Chests carry reflect the rarity of the Chests.

For example the Ruby Chest, pictured below, is the highest-tier Chest that players can currently find in the game. End-game Items like the Chainsaw or the Tactical Shotgun can be found inside of it.

Melee Weapons

Weapon	Details	Obtainment
Spear		• Good Chest • Pelt Trader (second trade)
Poison Spear	Similar damage as regular spear but, it slows the targets and deals poison damage over time.	• Whirlpool • Frog Cave Chest
Old Axe	Used for woodcutting and dealing damage to enemies. Cuts trees in 13 cuts.	• Free from the start
Good Axe	Upgraded version of Old Axe. Cuts trees in 5 cuts.	• Good Chest • Pelt Trader (first trade) • Lumberjack class
Strong Axe	Upgraded version of Good Axe. Cuts trees in 1 cuts. Does more damage than the spear.	• Gold Chest • Pelt Trader (fourth trade)
Ice Axe	Same as Good Axe, and it also applies cold effect that slows enemies.	• Ice Chest
Chainsaw	Similar to Strong Axe. Cuts big trees faster. Deals less damage than the spear.	• Ruby Chest • Craftable
Katana	Similar to the spear	• Assassin Class
Laser Sword	Deals more damage than the spear. Uses energy.	• Alien Chest • UFO crashes
Ice Sword	Deals more damage than the spear, and it also applies cold effect that slows enemies.	• Ice Chest
Morningstar	Highest damage out of all melee weapons.	• Gold Chest
Trident	Similar stats to Morning star, only weapon that can’t be obtained through chests.	• Fishing it the Skeleton (Bone) Lake
Infernal Sword	Deals slightly higher damage than laser sword, can cook food automatically.	• Volcano Sacrifices (8 Cultists)

Ranged Weapons

Kunai	You can throw kunai 120 times, which can be recharged if you find another kunai.	• Assassin Class • Ruby Chest
Raygun	Unlimited ammo that is rechargable.	• Alien Class • Alien Chest • UFO Crash
Ice Shuriken	Similar to Kunai, but does slightly less damage, and it applies cold effect that slows enemies.	• Ice Chest
Tactical Shotgun	Mag Capacity 4/4 Uses shotgun ammo. Deals the most damage out of all ranged weapons.	• Ruby Chest
Flamethrower	The Flamethrower is a ranged weapon that doesn’t use ammo, but uses Fuel Canisters instead. The Flamethrower can make burns enemies, automatically cooking food if they drop it.	• Pyromaniac class
Crossbow	Deals more damage than raygun and has infinite ammo.	• Infernal Chest
