Like in real life basketball there are a lot of different ways to play this game. It’s important you find a playstyle that suits you. There are a lot of different Styles and Zones combinations for you to try out to find your playstyle.

Below are some of the more basic things you should know about the game that will help you master the basics and boost your performance.

Basic Controlls

M1 – this is how you shoot, by holding the left mouse button you will shoot but if you just tap it you will do a pump fake.
M2 – this is how you pass, be careful to look in the direction of your teammate or you can lose the ball.
E – this is your steal button, if you try to steal the ball from somebody who is using the Dribbling key you this you will get your ankles broken so pay attention if the opponent is dribbling or not.
Q – this is how you dribble and do moves to avoid steals, you only have 3 dribbles on max charge so pay attention to that if you don’t want your ball to get stolen.
SPACE – this is how you jump, but also on offense if you are close to the basket pressing space will trigger a dunk, on defense by jumping when somebody is trying to score is how you can have a chance at blocking them.
R – by pressing this you will signal your teammate to pass the ball
T – this is how you activate your Zones, in the game there will be a bar that will passively charge while you play, when its above a certain point you can press T and trigger your Zone and its buffs.
G – by pressing G when you are granted an Awakening you will Awaken your Style and get all new abilities.
C – this is your first ability you get from whatever Style you have.
V – this is your second ability you get from whatever Style you have.
B – this is your ultimate move you can only use it while in an Awakening.

Basic Mechanics and Useful Tips

With the knowledge of the basic controls, below will be listed some of Basic Mechanics and how to do them along with some Useful Tips.

How to dribble – if you don’t have the Street Dribbler Zone you will have only 3 dribble, generally you want to dribble once as soon as you get the ball since almost always somebody will try to steal it. You can also dribble in any direction so if you are on the 3 point line you can use all your dribbles to go side to side and get an open shot.
Using Pump fake effectively – almost always when you try to take a shot somebody on the defense will jump to try to block so if you are not completely open, just tap the mouse button to pump fake and when you see the defense jump start shooting or pass to an open teammate.
Defensive tips – instead of just spamming the steals button and hoping that you get a steal, just try to stand in front of the opponents and try to bait out their 3 dribbles, and if you see your teammate going for a steal try to time yours a little after to secure a steal if the opponent used up all of his dribbles. You can also try intercepting passes, just pay attention who has the ball and if you see them using up their dribbles they will have to pass, if you position yourself between the ball and who you are guarding you can intercept that pass.
Passing – since most players are focused on scoring they forget how strong just passing is, you do need to be looking directly at a teammate if you want to pass it to them, if there aren’t any open teammates and you don’t have any dribbles left you can try shooting the ball at the side of the court at the invisible barrier. This will make it a loose ball but if you aim right and use any dashing ability you can just continue going to the hoop.
