Digging out items is the core and main objective of DIG. Each location and its sublocation have their own variety of treasures that players can dig out and sell to any Merchant for $, the game’s currency.

Certain items have preferences: ideal weather conditions, seasons, and other useful information that are all written in the player’s Journal. Discovering a new Item gives players $.

Items have a chance to be dug out with a certain Modifier and Attribute which can increase their value and change their appearance. The chances of Modifiers and Attributes can increase when using certain Shovels, Charms and Magnets.

Players will also be allowed to trade with other players once they reach level 10. Trading can be done by holding the E key when standing near to a player.
