Verse Piece Race Tier List

Updated: Apr 25, 2025, 8:57 AM

In Verse Piece, the Race that you Roll seriously impacts your character’s overall performance. The best Races are optimized both for dealing damage and survivability, but they are very hard to get from rolls. This Tier List will provide an overview of which Races to reroll for and which ones to avoid. We’ve also included the reasoning for our choices and a breakdown for each Tier.

Races Tier List

Our ranking heavily favors Exotic races since they are simply that much better than the other ones, based on the following criteria:

  • Damage output
  • Passives
  • Effects
  • Healing factor

Based on their stats, all of the Exotic Races can definitely more than pull their weight, whether it comes to PVP or PVE .

S Tier Races

Best of the best. If you’ve got one of these, you’re worries are gone.

  • Dullahan (Exotic): Considering the current update, it’s arguably the best race in the game. Pairing Dullahan with the Emiyas Armor and Kamish Necklace will grant you god-like levels of Sword damage. Plus, the Race has a considerable burn passive. The only downside is that most of the damage output can only be achieved during the night.
  • Contractor (Exotic): Another solid pick for your end-game Race. Besides having one of the highest damage multipliers, it also comes with a rather strong healing factor. The “healing factor” also explodes when it heals you up, dealing massive damage to nearby enemies.
  • Fallen Angel (Exotic): One of the player favorites. Hailed as the best Race in the game, Fallen Angel has a constant damage multiplier, although lower than that of Dullahan. The AOE Damage and Stun effects that accompany it are one of the strongest in the game.
  • Shadow (Exotic): While having no inherent Damage multipliers, the Shadow shines in other ways: It makes you invulnerable in PVP. Granting you practically invincibility agaist damage from other players, this is easily the best PVP Race in the game.
  • Dragonic (Exotic): This Race’s Damage multiplier is somewhere between Contractor and Fallen Angel. Dragonic can provide decent performance, although it doesn’t have any other defining features, apart from an admitedly cool set of wings though.
  • Ghoul (Exotic): Ghoul (Exotic): The Ghoul Race comes with attributes that make it extremely useful both in PVE and PVE. The base damage multiplier of 2.5x , along with its powerful Lifesteal are the main reason this race ended up in S Tier.

A Tier Races

A-tier Races aren’t quite on the same level as the S-tier ones, but can definitely hold their own.

  • Truthseeker (Exotic): Very decent Sword Damage multiplier and HP boost. This Race has certain downsides that somewhat outweigh its strengths. In particular, Truthseeker can’t deal Spec damage, dropping it from S to A tier.
  • Half Cyborg (Exotic): Likely the second best PVP race in the game. Although it’s damage reduction is not on par with Shadow, the HP increase that comes with it is quite formidable.
  • Demonic (Mythical): This Race is more powerful than a typical Mythical. The damage multiplier is almost the same as that of the Contractor, with the added bonus of preventing enemies from healing.

B Tier Races

These Races are relatively okay, but you shouldn’t expect massive numbers from them. They have other uses though: a number of them are required for obtaining certain Specs and Swords.

C Tier Races

C-tier Races like Arrancar or Reaper are good first picks when it comes to leveling and early game, but besides that, you should switch them out as soon as you get a chance.

How To Roll For Races

To roll for Races, you’ll need the aptly-named Race Reroll. Once you have that item, here’s how you can reroll:

  • Open up your inventory [red highlight]
  • Select the Race Reroll Item [yellow highlight]
  • Press the associated number on your hot-bar [purple highlight]
  • And just left-click anywhere on the screen. This will Reroll your current Race

Getting a Race is fairly simple, but rolling for the better ones is a different story. Most of the exotic races (besides Fallen Angel) have a 0.05% chance of rolling, which means you’ll need a lot of Race Rerolls.

Race Reroll Item

Race Rerolls are usually gotten from chests. Farming bosses, doing dungeons, finishing quests will all net you at least a couple of chests per run.
