All NPCs In Absolvement
Identity
“Ah, another fractured soul. I’ve seen a lot of you around these parts recently; care to see my wares?”
The Identity NPC sells Cosmetic items which Players can equip to change the appearance of their Characters.
Zephyranthe
“Welcome to The Land Between, new soul – need anything ?”
The Zephyranthe NPC serves as a Tutorial NPC for new players just starting the game.
Players can interact with this NPC to get information about the basics of the game by asking the following questions:
- What is this place?
“This is The Land Between, it’s a place between, well, the land between life and not-so-much life. You’re kinda stuck here until the end of time. That’s okay, it gets somewhat meditative after a while.”
- Starting a Dungeon?
“The globe icon in your toolbar will open a menu to join existing lobbies or create a lobby of your own. If you are on console, this can be accessed in a radial with Y and B.”
- Combat?
“Something something… game is incredibly difficult with little to no hand-holding… actually, I think that’s the wrong game. Hmmm, I’m sure you’ll be alright, just remember the basics. You use your ‘Q’ key to dodge, your ‘F’ key to parry, your ‘R’ key to perform critical attacks.”
- The Dungeon?
“The concept is simple – the further you progress, the harder the game. Enemies will become stronger, smarter and faster the further you level up your Soul Strength. There will be modifiers that change and modify how the dungeon will play – some being negligible, some being game-changing. When you decide you want to delve into the depths, you don’t have to go alone, you can bring up to four additional people.”
- Lives and Wiping?
“You start off with three lives. Once you die three times, that’s it, it’s game over. You can find phylactery cards that will give you lives back, but they are not abundant – so be as careful as you can be.”
- How to change Settings?
“In the top left of your screen if you are on PC there is a gear icon where you can change basic settings such as volume and keybinding’s, but also change toggles and quality of life assets.”
Currencies:
- Gold?
“Gold is important. Gold will always be important, from buying skills to consumables, or interaction with fountains and even using gold for special things that i cannot disclose in-depth. You can get gold from selling items to merchants. You can also break some barrels and crates to get some pocket change, and even some events will give you some.”
- Soul-Fragments?
“Every time you shatter for the last time, a part of your soul continues with your next life, the rest are turned into fragments. The stronger your soul was before, the more fragments you obtain. You can use these fragments to buy things from eccentric shopkeeps, but i foresee a new use in the future.” (Do note that “new use”, might well be the current Soul Tree, and the dialogue might be outdated.)
- Void-Fragments?
“I’m not sure about that one, if I get any new leads, I’ll let you know.”
- Who are you?
“Me ? I’m nobody important, I’m just the first denizen most people meet because everyone ends up here in some way. Makes it much easier getting people used to the new ‘lifestyle change.”
Delusion Love, The Crystal Trader
“Come to trade? I have an abundance of Arcane derived crystals, volatile and potent. But do be warned, I don’t trade down.”
Delusion Love, the Crystal traded will offer information about Crystals, and allow the player to trade in their Crystals for ones of a different Element.
However, the exchange rate is quite high. Players will need to part with three of their own Crystals, in exchange for one from Delusion Love. All the Crystals traded must, and will be of the same Rarity.
Lux, The Town Blacksmith
“Another one of Amoria’s fallen, what can I do for you?”
Lux, The Town Blacksmith will offer three levels of upgrades, all of them costing a different amount of Gold. Besides Gold, players will also be required to finish 5 Dungeon Runs in between each Weapon Upgrade.
- Upgrade Level 1: 75 Gold
- Upgrade Level 2: 150 Gold
- Upgrade Level 3: 300 Gold
Besides Weapons, Lux can also upgrade a player’s armor.
Vaelrith
“Another Soul suspended in Limbo… since you clearly have time to spend, are you interested in doing a quest for me in return for some spare Void Fragments i have lying around ?”
The Vaelrith NPC sends players out on quests, and in return rewards them with Void Fragments.
Mars, The Town Merchant
“Welcome Shardkin, what can I do for you?”
The Mars NPC gives players the option to sell unwanted items to him, without having to having to access the Dungeon.
On another note, players will receive info about the Lore of the game if they speak to Mars.
Enigma Chen, The Devout Believer
“Our Goddess Amoria will bless us in the most desperates of times…”
Currently has no specific use in the game.
