Inhalers And Healing Items
Inhalers are consumable Items in The Fields which restore Health, Stamina, or Sanity when used.
Blue Inhaler
“A blue inhaler with a cracked top and faded HEMCOR branding. Said to maximize your stamina”
- On Use: Fully restores your drained stamina.
Red Inhaler
“An inhaler for treating heavy injuries. Should maximize your Health”
- On Use: Fully restores your lost Health.
Purple Inhaler
“An inhaler for easing the mind.”
- On Use: Restores your sanity.
Bandage
“A simple bandage.”
- On Use: Stops bleeding.
- Can be crafted.
Medical Kit
“A sealed kit of surgical tools and medicine. Rare, precious even, and perhaps the only thing delaying the inevitable. Click to open.”
- On Use: Opens the Medical Kit, dropping several bandages and healing items on the ground.
- Can be obtained by opening the Medical Crate located at the Security Checkpoint Alpha. The key for the Medical Crate can be acquired by bringing a Blighted Salve to the Hunter.
Equipment Items
Equipment Items provide a number of useful features when equipped by the player.
Compass
“An old compass. Extremely useful for telling where you are. Click to equip.”
The Compass can be found on top of two stacked wooden palettes inside of the players Base. When equipped, a Compass will appear on the top of your HUD.
This will allow you to navigate your surroundings, and easily find specific Locations or NPCs.
Walkie-Talkie
“A two-way radio in pristine condition. Rare to find. Possibly used by HEMCOR operatives. Hold in hand to start speaking.”
Inside of the Radio Station, you’ll be able to find five different Walkie Talkies laying on the ground.
Equipping them in your hand will allow you to communicate with your friends, provided they also carry one.
Watch
“A scratched wristwatch, it’s ticking faint and uneven. As if trying to warn you. Click to use.”
The Watch can be found next to a corpse outside of the Radio Station. Once equipped, it will allow you to tell the time.
It is probably one of the most important Equipment Items, as keeping track of time is a crucial mechanic in The Fields.
Getting back to your base and a generator before dark will save your Sanity, and possibly your life.
Tactical Flashlight
“A really useful source of light. Can be mounted on your chest. Click to equip.”
The Tactical Flashlight can be found on the first floor of the Construction Site.
Equipping it will allow you to see in the dark.
Survival Backpack
Can be obtained inside of the Bunker, and increases your carrying capacity once equipped.
Bear Traps
Can be found near in the vicinity of the Hunter’s cabin, or obtained as a Quest Reward.
Used to trap enemies by having them walk over it once it has been placed on the ground.
Crafting Items
Crafting Items in The Fields are used for crafting and repairing Weapons and other useful Items.
Most of them can be found lying on the ground. However, some items can only be obtained in certain Locations.
Wiring
“Bundles of tangled, scavenged wire. Essential for traps, machines and desperate experiments. Wanted by the hunter”
The Wiring Item can be found on the first floor of the Construction Site.
It can be brought to the Hunter in order to complete the first part of the Hunter’s Trial quest.
Blowtorch
“A battered tool that spits weak fire, just enough to bend metal to your will. Useful for upgrading makeshift gear.”
The Blowtorch can be obtained as a reward for completing the first part of the Hunter’s Trial quest.
Once obtained, you can use it to upgrade your Workbench to Level 3, unlocking new crafting recipes.
Rags
“Torn and worn, but not unusable. Can be crafted into a bandage.”
Rags can be found anywhere, usually lying on the ground.
You can use Rags to craft Bandages, Molotovs and a Torch at the Workbench.
Nails
“A box of nails, extremely useful.”
Nails are widely used for crafting in a large number of recipes at the Workbench.
In our playthrough, we focused on using them in combination with a Plank to craft Spiked and Sharpened Spiked planks to battle the infected more easily.
Plank
“A cracked slab of old wood. Strong enough if you don’t look to close.”
Used for crafting Weapons and upgrading your Workbench.
Wood Glue
“Wood glue in perfect condition. Should be able to repair most weapons.”
Used for repairing broken or low durability Weapons.
Metal Scrap
“Flakes of rust fall off with every touch. Barely worth the risk”.
Used for crafting, but can also be sold at the Trader.
Electrical Tape
“Sticky, and half-used. Holds more than wires together.”
Used for crafting, but can also be sold at the Trader.
Key Part One
“A part for a key, it’s missing the front.”
One half of the HEMCOR Key. Can be found at the Construction Site.
Key Part Two
“A part for a key, it’s missing the back.”
The other half of the HEMCOR Key. Can be found at the Radio Station, lying on the floor under a desk.
Blightcap
“A mushroom born from blight. It’s cap pulses faintly, as if breathing.”
Can be found growing from the ground amongst the tall grass.
Used for crafting the Blighted Salve Item, needed for the Hunter’s Quest.
Empty Vial
“An empty glass vial. Could be useful for something?”
Used for crafting the Blighted Salve Item, needed for the Hunter’s Quest.
Heavy Duty Toolbox
“A premium quality toolbox, sure to contain some advanced hardware.”
Obtained as a reward for bringing the Blighted Salve Item to the Hunter, alongside the Medical Crate Key.
Axe Head
“A part of a formidable weapon.”
Used for crafting the Axe.
