Beginners Guide
When starting the game, you will see a short introduction about the world and what happened before you start playing. After the intro, you will find yourself in a field near the Base.
You will receive a text prompt about a generator near by. The generator is located at your base, and it will be highlighted in orange. You will also get 2 guaranteed gasoline cans as starting items.
You should put the 2 gasoline cans into the generator, but don’t turn it on since you will need it at night. Without light, during the night you will start to lose sanity which will give you a lot of debuffs.
Inside the base, you will see a crafting table where you can craft useful items to help you survive. For the first night you should try to search the base as much as you can, bring any scattered materials to the crafting table, and try to upgrade it as soon as possible.
You can also trade, sell, and buy items with the Trader. He spawns during the day and is located in a small shack near your base.
Another useful location is the Radio Station. It is located west from your base and it will always contain radios for your party if you are playing multiplayer. It can also contain weapons and a watch.
During the day, you should always try to explore and gather up as much recourses as possible to craft better equipment and weapons.
When the night comes you should always turn on the generator for power and prepare for combat since zombies will most likely attack you. The night starts at 8pm and ends at 7am. Sometimes the zombies will turn off your generator. If this happens you need to be quick to turn it back on to avoid the debuffs.
