Buffs:
The Katiyr can be considered as one of the best Races for kiting and defense in general in Absolvement. This is due to its increased walking speed and faster cooldown on rolling.
- Increased walking speed: Makes kiting, avoiding enemies, and positioning easier for players who choose this Race.
- Faster rolling cooldown: Rolling is one of the best defensive moves in the game, and having faster refresh on it makes Katiyr a top-tier Race in Absolvement.

Debuffs:
Despite the positives, players who choose this Race during character creation in Absolvement will also suffer some downsides. Although those negatives won’t make or break runs, players should still be carful about them.
- Lower resistance on Water-based attacks: An almost negligible debuff, since no bosses use water-based attacks. As for the basic enemies, the buffs you get from this Race should be more than enough to avoid them entirely.
- Lower resistance to Disease-based attacks: Practically the same as with the Water attacks—the 10% lower resistance isn’t really notable during runs.
