Potentials are one of the core game mechanics in Absolvement. When you defeat enemies and clear certain rooms in the dungeon, an orb will appear. This orb carries Potential.
When you interact with this orb, three cards will be displayed on your screen from which you can choose only one. These potentials can range anywhere from simple damage/health stat increases, to follow-up Skills for your attacks. They can also be new attacks/skills, or Weapons for the player to choose.
Alternatively, the player can choose to DISCARD their card hand. This will pick none of the cards presented, but in return, the player will receive gold based on the rarity of the Potentials discarded.
You can have 10 Potentials per level. You will need to level up your character in order go get more Potentials. Discarding a hand will not take away a slot from this count.
These potential cards will have different rarities:
Common
Uncommon
Rare
Unique
Mythical
Better rarity usually means better stuff and that’s mostly true. However, even Potentials with worse rarity can be very useful.
Skills
Skill Potentials are going to be your main source of damage in Absolvement. Maximum amount of Skills that a player can have is nine. There are 14 Skill types in total.
Some Potential cards will provide you with stats, passive effects that enhance your Skills or even give you some unique effects.

Weapons
Weapon cards will offer you a large variety of Weapons to choose from. Swords, daggers, axes, spears, bows, hammers, scythes and even stronger fists. You will certainly find a Weapon that suits your playstyle. These Weapons will give you increased damage with M1 attacks. Mythical Weapons will also have unique skills that deal a great amount of damage.
